Joey Collins, "If I were the
95th District State Representative"
If I was the 95th district state representative My first order of business would be to file legislation to cut spending across the board for the purpose of refunding the teachers retirement fund. These teachers do not deserve to be thrown under the bus. after all. These teachers played a role in our future education or in our children's future education because of their dedication. They deserve better than what the state has given to them. If I was the 95th district state representative My next order of business would be to file legislation to pull our state from funding the out of control EPA, what's good for the goose is good for the gander, if the crony obama EPA can destroy jobs then we will return the favor by cutting all taxes or funding paid to the federal government so that they cannot pay their EPA employees. They have used our own money to wage their war on coal. The states created the federal government and by God we can take it away just as easy by DE-funding their out of control over reach. If I was the 95th district state representative The third order of business would be to stop the law from being broken by our elected leaders. Same sex marriage is not a law passed by the house or senate; therefore it is no law at all. The action of the governor, to tell clerks to step down if they do not comply because of a simple opinion of men and women in black robes is unacceptable. This ruling was based on the 14th Amendment and is in no way enforceable by men and women in black robes. My legislation would first be to protect our clerks, secondly. This whole mess will need to be done the right way through legislation. The Supreme Court does not make law folks, they interpret law. When considering constitutional issues, the court determines whether a law passed by congress or a state legislature is allowed by the constitution. When considering a federal statute, the court determines what that statute means in a given situation. This so called same sex marriage law was never legislated, that is where the problem is. If I was the 95th district state representative My time would not be wasted on a statue that is harmless, that whole thing is based on a crazed maniac that shot and killed 9 innocent people, what we see happening is complete insanity. A few people get offended and everyone goes stupid. Doing what Greg Stumbo is doing with the Jefferson Davis statue is nothing more than ignorance. Possibly a kick back is coming to Stumbo for doing this, who knows. That statue is a reminder of the racial divide we once suffered in this country. Most importantly, that is our history. The resources (tax dollars) it would take to move that statue could house homeless veterans. It's a waste of time to move that statue, focus on jobs and the economy. This message was inspired after talking with Greg Stumbo’s wife, in her own words she says that states do not supersede the federal government, unfortunately she is wrong, and the 9th and 10th amendments to the bill of rights prove this fact. There are certain rights that were not trusted to the federal government. Many of those rights have been trampled on and unless we make changes to our state representative layout, we will lose even more. James Madison, January 29, 1788. I assume this position here as it respects the first, reserving the proofs for another place. The federal and State governments are in fact but different agents and trustees of the people, constituted with different powers, and designed for different purposes. The adversaries of the Constitution seem to have lost sight of the people altogether in their reasoning’s on this subject; and to have viewed these different establishments, not only as mutual rivals and enemies, but as uncontrolled by any common superior in their efforts to usurp the authorities of each other. These gentlemen must here be reminded of their error. They must be told that the ultimate authority, wherever the derivative may be found, resides in the people alone. This is all hypothetical, I mean it could happen, However, Who is ready to remind the government that we hold the future of this country in our hands?
