Is Ted Cruz Eligible to run for President?
Ted Cruz’s Eligibility

Many birthers are saying that Ted Cruz is not eligible to run for President of the United States. They claim he is not a Natural Born Citizen of the United States. That is why I am taking time to address the situation. There will be those who will argue against the facts I am stating here and that is a good thing. We should look at things from all angles. I am confident that my research will hold up. All I ask, you research the facts and show that research with your argument. It is easy to make a statement but not so easy to back it up with the laws of our Country especially our Constitution.
The framers of the Constitution would be more able to understand the Constitution than anyone else since its acceptance into law. This means they would have been able more than any of us to understand what they meant by Natural Born Citizen
The first Congress of the United States, three years after the writing of the Constitution passed the Naturalization act of 1790. It said that Children of U.S. Citizens born abroad were Natural Born U.S Citizens also. Now keep in mind that many of those members of the first U.S. Congress also were co-authors of the Constitution.
This is not the first time this issue came up. Most recently it was argued over Barack Obama the current President of the United States. Birthers have had a field day with his eligibility and I have to admit I was one before I researched this topic. I like many others did not believe he was eligible. Now the issue with Obama is why did he not produce a valid Birth Certificate? Instead he produced one that had been faked. It was proven to be fake by forensic scientist. However that is a topic for another time. I apologize for digressing.
In 1968 George Romney Governor of Michigan ran for President of the United States. He was born in Mexico to parents that never relinquished their U.S. Citizenship after his Mormon Grand Father and his three wives fled to Mexico in 1886.
Most recently Senator John McCain of Arizona made his second Bid for the Presidency in 2008. He was born in Panama in the Panama Canal Zone where his father was stationed with the U.S. Navy. This caused a debate over his eligibility as well. Interestingly enough it was Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama whom McCain was running against that co-sponsored a Senate Measure to settle the issue. The April 2008 resolution said, "John Sidney McCain, III, is a 'natural born Citizen' under Article II, Section 1, of the Constitution of the United States." It passed unanimously. It makes me pause to wonder why would Hillary and Obama want to co-sponsor such a measure to clear the path for their opposition? The only answer I can think of (this part is my opinion only I have no proof only suspicion) is because the election had already been decided and the players in place and they did not want to screw it up. How ironic that Obama’s birth would come into question and it is still an issue argued today seven years after his election.
My sources for this information are Politifact.com, Wikipedia.org and Google.com. I would appreciate that any person who wants to contest this article will do so respectfully and give credible references for their rebuttal.
I apologize to our readers for having shut down this page for the last elevan months and I thank my readers who have been very gracious as I am batteling Cancer. I had Surgery a couple of weeks ago and am free of lung cancer now but still am fighting leukemia.
